How to Get Started

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. We keep the process simple and walk you through each part so you know what to expect.

The first step is to call our office or request an appointment. From there, our team will help you schedule an evaluation and answer any initial questions.

What to Expect at Your Evaluation

Evaluations are typically one hour and include both conversation and play-based interaction with your child. During this time, we:

  • Talk with you about your concerns and your child’s history
  • Observe how your child communicates, moves, or engages
  • Use a combination of informal and formal assessments

At the end of the evaluation, we’ll review our initial recommendations with you and let you know whether therapy is needed, along with a suggested frequency.

Insurance and Payments

We currently accept Medicaid and TRICARE.

If you have Medicaid, a referral from your child’s pediatrician is required before starting services. Referrals are not required for other families, though they can still be helpful. Families outside of these plans may choose to continue as private pay.

Educational services such as tutoring and IEP support are private pay only.
