Meet the Founder
Amy Bland, MS-SLP, ADHD-RSP, is the founder and Executive Director of Phoenix Therapies+. Before starting the practice, she spent more than 22 years working as a speech-language pathologist in hospital and outpatient settings. She understands what it is like to manage a caseload, work through challenging sessions, and support families through difficult conversations.
Phoenix Therapies+ was built from that experience. Amy wanted to create a practice where therapists feel supported in their work, have access to the resources they need, and can focus on delivering care that makes a real difference. Today, she continues to stay closely involved with the team, offering guidance, support, and a clear standard for how care is delivered.
What It’s Like to Work at Phoenix Therapies+
We are a close, supportive team. If you have a tough session or a case that is not going the way you expected, you are not expected to figure it out on your own. Our team talks through challenges, shares ideas, and supports each other without judgment. You will always have people to turn to.
We also make time to connect outside of work! Throughout the year, we plan team events and create opportunities to spend time together and unwind. And we recognize milestones, celebrate achievements, and support both your professional and personal well-being.
When you join us, you will be part of a team that communicates openly, supports each other, and truly enjoys the work that we do for our community.

Our Core Values
Kindness and Compassion
We treat families and each other with care and respect. That shows up in how we communicate, how we support one another, and how we handle difficult moments with patience and professionalism.
Understanding
We take the time to understand each child and each family, and we also extend that same understanding to our team. We recognize that everyone brings different experiences, and we make space for that.
No Judgment
We create an environment where families and team members can be honest about challenges without fear of criticism. Whether it is a tough case or a difficult day, you will be supported, not judged.
Patience
We know that progress takes time, both for the children we serve and for the professionals on our team. We stay consistent, give each other room to grow, and focus on long-term development.
Growth Opportunities at Phoenix Therapies+
We are continuing to grow, and we are building opportunities for our team to grow with us! If you are interested in developing a specialty or focusing on a specific area, we will support that through training, mentorship, and access to the right caseload. As we continue to expand, there will be opportunities to step into leadership roles and grow with us.
Hear What Our Team Is Saying

Internship & Student Opportunities
If you are exploring a career in pediatric therapy, this is a place where you can see what the work actually looks like! We offer observation, internship, and clinical placement opportunities for students at different stages, including:
- High school students interested in healthcare
- Undergraduate students exploring OT and PT
- Graduate students completing clinical placements through Loyola University of Maryland and Towson University
