Our Story Started with One Family
Buford Kids’ SPOT grew from a deeply personal understanding of what families need when a child requires extra support. Owner Deb Hughes’ experience raising her son, Daniel, inspired her to open this practice in 2020 with a commitment to provide children and families with compassionate care and people they can truly count on.
Today, that commitment extends far beyond the therapy room. Our team works alongside families, schools, healthcare providers, and community resources to help each child receive consistent support throughout their everyday life.
Meet Our Owner
Before entering the field, Deb served in the U.S. Army and spent 20 years working as an engineer. Her experience raising her son Daniel inspired an entirely new path focused on helping children and supporting the families caring for them.
Today, she brings both her professional experience and a parent’s perspective to the culture and care at Buford Kids’ SPOT.
Our Mission
We empower children to reach their full potential through expert speech, occupational, feeding, AAC, and myofunctional therapies by building confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
Our Philosophy
We believe meaningful therapy begins with relationships. Every child deserves to be known as an individual, every family deserves to feel heard and supported, and therapy should fit into the bigger picture of a child’s life.
That’s why our approach is collaborative, consistent, and personal. We work together with families and the other people involved in each child’s care. When families need support beyond therapy, we help them navigate resources, advocacy, equipment, waivers, and other challenges that can come with caring for a child with additional needs.
At Buford Kids’ SPOT, our goal isn’t simply to provide therapy. It’s to become part of the team helping your child and family move forward.
