Skill Builders Program at Phoenix Therapies+
in Forest Hill & Bel Air, MD
Building Confident Kids Through Play, Real-Life Connection, and Real-Life Skills
The Phoenix Therapies+ Skill Builders Program offers small group experiences designed to help children build practical skills in a supportive, engaging environment.
These groups focus on real-life development through structured activities, peer interaction, and guided support from our team. Children have the opportunity to practice skills in a way that feels natural while building confidence and independence.
For many children, practicing skills in a group setting can feel more meaningful than working one-on-one. It allows them to apply what they are learning in real situations while developing comfort interacting with others.
Skill Builders Program Group Offerings
We offer a range of groups based on age, skill level, and area of focus, including:
- Little Learners Lab
- Social Stars
- Ready, Set, Kindergarten
- Brave Bites Feeding Program
As the program grows, new groups will be introduced to meet the needs of families in our community.
What to Expect from Skill Builders Groups
Each group is designed with a specific focus and led by experienced therapists or educators who guide children through activities that support skill development. Some groups are designed for parent participation, especially for younger children, while others are drop-off programs that allow children to build independence in a guided environment.
Our goal is to create a setting where children feel comfortable trying new things, interacting with peers, and building skills they can use outside of the group. Groups may:
- Target social, communication, or developmental skills
- Include play-based and hands-on activities
- Provide opportunities for peer interaction and connection
- Support skill-building in a structured, supportive setting
A Thoughtful Approach to Group Placement
We take the time to place children in groups where they will be most successful. Families complete a short interest form that helps us understand your child’s strengths, needs, and current skill level. This allows us to place children with peers who are at a similar level, which supports better participation and a more positive experience.
All groups are offered as self-pay enrichment programs and are designed to complement therapy or stand on their own.
